“La Traviata” at Cinema

By Carol Horning Stacey | 12/11/2018

The Regal Cinema in Coeur d’Alene will carry the high definition simulcast of “La Traviata” on Saturday morning, December 15th, starting at 9:55am. The very early hour comes from matinée time in New York City where the opera is live on stage.

One of Verdi’s most popular operas, “La Traviata” is the sad tale of Violetta, a party girl of sorts, who falls in love with the impetuous but naive Alfredo. Alas, this cannot end well because such an unrespectable alliance would ruin his family. And Violetta has tuberculosis.
