By Carol Horning Stacey | 04/21/2017

The public is invited to a reception at Gonzaga’s Jundt museum in the Chancellor’s Room on Thursday, April 27, at 5pm, featuring Suzanne Ostersmith, GU Dance Program Director, and Elaina Pignolet, the student research assistant to the Dance Program. The reception is one of the events arranged in connection with and exhibit documenting American modern dance pioneer Loie Fuller.

The annual spring dance concert at Gonzaga is set for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 27, 28, and 29, at 7:30. There is also a matinee on Saturday at 2. The program will feature a student performance of Fuller’s “Lily.”

Also on view at the Jundt are two exhibits: “Images about the American West” and “Treasure from the Sahlin Collection,” both continuing through May 13.

In Coeur d’Alene the Art Spirit Gallery is showing “New Work by 13 Artists,” featuring the work of Frank Boyden, Michael de Forest, Catherine Earle, Mary Farrell,  Reinaldo Gill, Robert Grimes, Yuji Hirasuka, Michael R. Lee, Carla O’Conner, Kyle Paliotto, Tyree Riggs, Valerie Seaberg, and Shannon Tucker. This show ends  May 6.

If you haven’t yet discovered the Corner Gallery of North Idaho College, you can get acquainted with a charming art venue which is open mid-day on school days in the auditorium building. Currently the Corner Gallery is showing the original work of the students of NIC. The last day is May 5.
